offering our local veterans recognition, services, and support

Dear Friend,

 

My name is Dan DiVirgilio. I am a United States veteran and founder of

Veterans Are Heroes Forever, a non-profit organization based in

Wolcott, Connecticut. I started this organization to provide support and assistance to local veterans and their families.

Veterans Are Heroes Forever was incorporated in November 2023 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and has already been contacted by individuals who desperately need our help. I am reaching out to you today to ask for your assistance as we build this organization and lay the foundation for growth.

Along with myself, my board of directors and a small group of volunteers have begun to make an impact on veterans’ lives. We work with owners of local businesses who donate goods and services to veterans in need. In addition, one of our partners granted us the use of a vehicle as a “mobile food bank” to combat food insecurity in our local area. I also hold a weekly social hour called

“Coffee with a Vet” where I strive to offer the fellowship and camaraderie so many of our veterans require. As I talk with veterans, we share a laugh, we tell stories about our families...but I also hear of their quiet struggles—a loss of purpose, feelings of depression, and homelessness. History may remember the battle, but who remembers those who fought it? With your help, we can ensure that our veterans will be honored for their sacrifice and receive the support they earned and deserve.

 

While we have made great strides, Veterans Are Heroes Forever has more work to do. Currently, we are requesting donations to fund our start-up costs and prepare for our upcoming fund-raising events and mobile foodbank distribution effort beginning in 2024.
